ONCE ON THIS ISLAND JR. is a highly original theatrical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s popular fairy tale, The Little Mermaid. Through almost non-stop song and dance, this full-hearted musical tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest that will test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred, and even death.

The show will feature over 30 local artists, there will be an art station for children, food truck and musicians… The fair begins at 10:00a.m. and ends at 5:00pm… While you are visiting our Outdoor Event please stop by the Garden Center to visit our 7th Annual Art in the Garden juried Art Show that will welcome Fort Worth’s Fall Gallery night.

There will also be a wedding fashion show.

Artes de la Rosa is a non-profit organization founded in 2000 to preserve, promote, and present Latino Arts, Culture, History, and Lives in North Texas. It operates the Historic Rose MarineTheater and the adjacent Gallery at the Rose Marine. Watch the Fort Worth Herd cattle drive from the sidewalks and restaurants near the Stockyards Visitor Center at 130 E. Exchange Avenue. The Longhorns reside in the corral located behind the Livestock Exchange Building where they eat, sleep and are well cared for.

Sculptechular 2014 spectacle

As part of “sculptechular 2014,” come on Saturday, Sept 6, from 10AM-4PM and Sunday, Sept 7, from 11AM-5PM, for live demonstrations by local artists. On Sunday, at 2:30PM, there will be a panel discussion followed by the award presentations and light reception. All activities are free and open to the public.
